I have seen Ouija last July 25. It was its first showing day. My friends and I planned to watched it on the first day because we just couldn't wait. it was a great film. Not your typical hair-raising, heart-pumping horror movie. Ouija gave a fresh look on horror films of today. It was based on a true story about a British family who tried to play with the Ouija board and summoned spirits and facing the consequences afterwards. But the film didn't rely on the documentary to make the film possible. Instead, Direk Topel Lee gave a very Pinoy approach to it. Everything was entirely Pinoy. From the casts to its setting. Funny thing though, if it wasn't for this movie, I never knew that we have an underwater cemetery in Camiguin! =)
This film is such a fab thing to watch. Powerhouse cast to boot. And yung acting nila Judy Ann, Jolina, Rhian and Iza were impeccable. sobrang nakaka-carried away this film. It also has a different approach to its plot. Most films, when they reached the resolution part, you would really thought that the film is done. But this one, all of a sudden may twist one way or another. Galing talaga! Galing ng Gma films, though this is their first venture into the horror genre, it was really successful. HAts-off din dun sa director, si Topel Lee, kasi he is used to make short films and music video, and his cross-over sa paggawa ng full-length film is really succesfful. Though the film didn't boast about special effects and too much prosthetics, it was still scary enough. it was worth spending my money on!
